Salinas is located 144 km from
the city of Guayaquil, in the far more outgoing of the coast
of the South Pacific, forming part of the province of Santa
Elena, in the area known as "Puntilla de Santa Elena."
Salinas has been formed as a city that is largely based on
tourism of sun, sea and beach, with a first class
infrastructure. Salinas is a vast triangular plain which
occupies the south western peninsula of Santa Elena. There
are no accidents account for terrain, finding in its
territory as small hills, the hill "Punta Carnero and the
Cerro de Salinas, known as La Puntilla, coastal accident
that enters the ocean as a tip, providing a strategic
location as a reference point for navigation
